TW: Well we are back. What happened in the intervening 10 or 11 days? Obama held his lead plus some, McCain and the Fembot introduced new cans of slime and the market has experienced an infarction. The slime comes as no surprise certainly, one can only hope it continues to merely odorize its issuers rather than its intended recipient. The market infarction has been a different story.
I must say trying to enjoy oneself in Europe whilst the markets gyrate seemingly without any bounds is not a recipe for pleasure, we are glad to be back home. But it was good to see some friends, the weather in both London and Portugal was outstanding and I did experience a couple of firsts. One, I have been traveling to Europe for over 25 years and for the first time was offered drugs on the street not once but three times, I guess I have just evolved into a middle-aged looking druggy (Laura too since she was with me). Two, I was bit by a dog while innocently walking an alley street in Porto. I have not started frothing at the mouth yet and the dog was with an old guy who seemed genuinely pissed at the dog for trying to nip a chunk of my ass.
So all in all interesting but not so compelling a voyage. Will get back to posting actual stuff shortly...as we are after all living through some interesting times...
