TW: Many learned to greatly respect Nate Silver's analytical skills at 538.com this year. His analysis and explanation of the political breezes was nearly impeccable. He has gotten into a squabble with the organization that produced a piece denigrating voters of Barack Obama. I will not go into all the gory details but the creator of the denigrating site apparently asked Silver to interview in order to rebut Silver's criticism. Silver complied and provided the interview script verbatim on at 538. It is hilarious. Silver is a geek but a very calm geek unlike the interviewee, Mr. John Ziegler, who gives off a most Bill O'Reillian demeanor (and recall this guy apparently solicited the interview).
From Silver at 538 (just a couple of choice morsels, u really should read it):
"...NS: Why would you commission a survey question with no correct response?
JZ: The purpose of the question, you pinhead, was we wanted to determine the Tina Fey Effect...
NS: What did Zogby charge you -- what did you pay for this survey?
JZ: I'm not going to tell you that, I'm not a fucking idiot....
NS: Thank you, have a good day.
JZ: Go fuck yourself."
