Voting By Demographic: The Republican Challenge

TW: Below are the voting breakdowns by demographic. Obama certainly carried African-Americans but only marginally more so than most Democrats. His true pillars were Latinos and the youth vote. As I have mentioned before the Republicans if they wish to win future elections (and we know they do), will have to address their weakness with Latinos.

Their weakness with the youth vote should also be very concerning. My generation which came of age in the '80's was (unfortunately) enamored with the Reagan Republican party and they have retained considerable loyalty over the past 25 years. If Obama is growing a new generation of Democrats then our side could benefit for a long time. The mosaic of American is evolving and it is not monochromatic.

White 30-44 (20%) 41% 57%
White 45-64 (30%) 42% 56%
White 65+ (13%) 40% 58%

Black 18-29 (3%)95% 4%
Black 30-44 (4%)96% 4%
