The White's have been car-free since February 2002, that's when the Beemer gave up the ghost in a White Hen parking lot in Oak Brook. We were on our way back from a rare trip to the burbs when the heating/cooling system died for the 3rd and final time. We grabbed a cab back to the city, called the BMW dealership the next day to take it away and haven't owned a car since.

But when we did own cars, we stuck to the basic, standard issue license plates. The kind that our past (and most likely current) Governors are making these days.

Not these car owners - they clearly feel some need to share. And thank goodness they do:
