TW: I post on this all the time but this graph portrays nicely my point. If anyone, left or right, is serious about fiscal policy at the federal level, they must address higher taxes, defense, health care and social security spending, because without those you are whistling into the wind. Btw, note even amongst the "non-defense discretionary" slice there are some pretty sacrosanct items like veterans benefits etc.Saturday, May 23, 2009
