Okay, this takes some serious living according to your principals. This Welsh family, concerned about the ecological state of our planet and our increasing reliance on dwindling supplies of fossil fuel energy, went all out and built an eco-house. On top of being 100% energy self-sufficient on renewable sources, it looks like something out of a fairytale.Per the builder, Simon Dale:
You are looking at pictures of a house I built for our family in Wales. It was built by myself and my father in law with help from passers by and visiting friends. 4 months after starting we were moved in and cosy. I estimate 1000-1500 man hours and £3000 put in to this point.

If I could talk myself into leaving the city and living with a compost toilet (that just sounds nasty), this might be an option. Of course, I’ll be counting on help from local passersby…
