TW: I have tried to provide some background info on the health care debate without getting sucked into the trees of the legislative process. Health care is a complicated issue but ultimately like all other complicated issues it has to be reducible to understandable bits otherwise folks just lose interest and become pray to demagoguery.
I am have received a couple of emails with questions about the plan. Understanding that I am neither a health care expert (which certainly does not stop me from opining ultimately) and unable to spend too much time delving into the trees myself. I will start a series next week with my take on the overall situation. We are getting to the nitty-gritty stage so it is time.
Below are some questions one reader raised, if you have others let me know if feasible I will try to get to them:
From a reader:
"I actually don't understand the healthcare reform at all so there's no way 98% of America will either. I don't understand how I'm going to get affordable coverage if I lose my job (COBRA is not affordable) .. I'm all for it if its plausible but I can't see how it is without putting us in more debt.. I don't buy the Conservative propaganda that our healthcare will collapse and look like something in foreign countries where you have to wait for months to get checkups & surgeries. I'm honestly looking for answers and the rush to pass something and lack of reporting by the press doesn't help.. Like I said reforming healthcare is a high priority but lets not rush to pass something that can't work.."
