Things I Like - Food

Have you seen Chopped - the new cooking competition show on the Food Network? Each episode brings four chefs together to compete in turning a selection of everyday ingredients into a three-course meal. After each course, a contestant gets "chopped" until the last chef left standing claims victory. This might sound easy enough but the basket of ingredients for each course always includes an item that just doesn’t make sense.

For example, the ingredients to be used for the dessert course in a recent show included oranges, grapefruit, chocolate chips and…bacon. They are allowed to use other items from the kitchen pantry but they must use the items from the basket in their dish.

The chefs get pretty creative but being able to use other ingredients definitely makes the challenge easier. The folks from Fancy Fast Food are old school. The only ingredients used in their dishes are what they can extract from the items they purchase at their local fast food emporium.

Take the BK Quiche above.

Made from the following Burger King items:As they note on the site, it might look good but it’s still bad for you. And from the looks of the ‘recipe’ instructions, it probably tastes even worse.
