TW: The fact that a person may technically be within their rights to carry automatic weapons to POTUS rallies only speaks to the insanity of our gun laws. That elected officials basically endorse citizens to bring such weapons to POTUS and other political rallies speaks to how ideological extremism grips certain elements of our society. This is all a slippery slope. That law enforcement is distracted watching these idiots is merely the tip of the iceberg. That folks believe white, pissed off, insecure folks will be the only ones ultimately to arm themselves in these situations is another.
Birthers...health care astroturfed lies...gun fetishists...then what.
A sane government would enact laws to preclude gun-toting near at least its POTUS but not ours. If there is a compelling reason why any private citizen needs to be toting near our POTUS please feel free to inform us.
