Things I Like - Sciences

Did you hear about NASA’s big experiment last week?

They slammed a probe into the moon so they could evaluate the results for evidence of water. Or so they say.

Here’s what ran through my mind as I listened to the report on the radio (in order of occurrence):
  • Whoa. We’ve learned that the moon is on a trajectory to hit the Earth and this is how we’re trying to fix the problem…under cover of a science experiment so as not to cause widespread panic
  • Aha! Proof that global warming is real – we are clearly seeking somewhere else to go. Wait, the moon isn’t big enough for everyone, how are they going to decide who goes? Oh who cares, I don’t want to live up there anyway,
  • Men really like to blow shit up
According to NASA, the mission went off without a hitch and although they didn’t see the huge dust plumes that they expected, they did obtain the data necessary to complete the intended evaluations. Two of the better reports that I saw were on Science Daily and Science News.

Btw, it seems that everyone is buying the ‘just a simple experiment’ explanation from NASA. I won't say I told you so when the truth comes out but just remember you heard it hear first.
