We took advantage of a nice day last week to walk up to Lincoln Park Zoo. Things were pretty quiet until the big guy up there let out a monster roar and starting chuffing. I've seen the Travel Channel, I know that the lion's roar is supposed to be one of the loudest animal noises on Earth. I didn't really believe it until last week.
Of course, his girlfriend wasn't too thrilled - it seems he woke her up from a perfectly good nap in the sun...

We were planning to go to the Lincoln Park Zoo on Saturday but weather did not cooperate! Rained all morning, sun finally out at 2:00 - but taking a walk, the wind was so fierce that we felt we would have been blown across the street. Oh, well, we'll go another time! MOM
