Times They Are a Changin'

TW: The graphs above are slightly deceiving since the y axes are distorted. But the point remains salient. China, Brazil and India as well as others such as Indonesia, Malaysia etc. are increasing their RELATIVE wealth compared to the West. This is a massive shift not seen since the late 1600's. Things will change. This does not mean our ABSOLUTE wealth will decline in fact it will benefit from growth in the other nations. But the West's ability to drive all international relations will wane and I am quite confident that the growing powers will succumb to some of the same hubris, nationalism and poor governance which has characterized their Western counterparts. So there will be opportunity and massive risks.

Fear of change, however, will get us nowhere of that there is no doubt.
